SHELTER

In the Oblasts of Kharkiv and Donetsk, U-Saved deploys mobile rehabilitation teams to repair houses damaged by the bombings. In the Kharkiv Oblast, where destruction was less frequent, new materials were used to renovate homes, enabling families to spend safer winters. In the Donetsk Oblast, on the other hand, where the shelling is incessant, salvaged materials were used to avoid renovations that would be too costly or fragile in the face of the violence of the conflict. Each intervention is tailored to the specific needs of the population: when families are able to carry out the work themselves, building materials are provided directly to them. In addition, emergency shelter kits have been distributed to protect the most vulnerable. These actions have enabled the most vulnerable populations to live in less precarious conditions and to protect themselves from the bad weather and the constant dangers of war.
